Carson, research professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, in a very helpful article looks at different Biblical motivations that we can use when encouraging non-Christians to trust in Christ. Some of them include: fear, the burden of guilt, shame, the attractiveness of truth, and responding to grace and love.
