Monday December 27th (evening):
God in heaven, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. You are sovereign. You do whatever you please. You are bound by no one. You rule the heavens and you rule the earth. You decide when one is born and when one dies. We plan our way, but you are the one who establishes our steps. You are the king. Everything you do is good. You are Love itself. You know all things. Everything you do is wise.
We confess that we often think that we know better than you, and sometimes we believe that a life lived independently of you is better than a life lived in submission to you and your Lordship. We have rebelled against you, and have often sought freedom from you, but this has only enslaved us. We have often made good things into ultimate things. We are truly sorry. We have not always believed that your plans for us will bring us the most joy and you the most glory. We have doubted your goodness, your grace, and your love. We have lived as if we were orphans, rather than precious children that have been chosen and adopted into your family. We have forgotten that if you sent your own Son to die for us, how much more will you give us all things! We do not deserve your forgiveness. There is nothing we can do to make ourselves right before you O Perfect Holiness, O Beautiful Perfection. It is only because of what Jesus did on the cross can we be considered perfectly righteous in your sight. Please forgive us of our unbelief and our sin. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent before you. For the sake of your Son Jesus, please cleanse us of all that is past, and grant that we may serve You in newness of life to the glory of Your name.
We gladly give up our current plans and agendas for our lives and we trust your vision and plan for our future. We thank you for your lavish love and forgiveness. We thank you that there is nothing we can do to make you love us more and that there is nothing we can do to make you love us less. We thank you that your plan for our lives is better than our plans. We are open to the plan you have for our lives. Please teach us this week through your Word. Please help us to respond humbly with faith and obedience. We love you. In Jesus name we may pray, Amen.
Tuesday December 28th (morning):
Gracious Heavenly Father, just as we have been made right with you by faith alone in Christ alone, we realize that we are sanctified or made holy by faith alone in Christ alone. We trust that He who began the good work in us will carry it to completion. This week, help us to hear your word with faith. This is how we received your Spirit in the first place and this is how we will continue to receive more of your Holy Spirit in our lives. What you ask us to do, to live like Jesus is impossible, but nothing is impossible with you. Please fill us with your Holy Spirit. May we reflect the character and beauty of your Son Jesus. May the fruit of Your Holy Spirit be evident in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Please help us to walk by the Spirit moment-by-moment, day-by-day. Thank you that you will never leave us or forsake us and that you are with us. Please give us courage to follow You wherever You lead and may you give us continued strength to break faith barriers. Please help us to proclaim the gospel to all people everywhere with a broken hearted boldness. Please use us on our campuses this year to bring in a harvest. Please use us to fulfill Your great commission in this generation. In the power of your Spirit, for your glory and our joy, and in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Tuesday December 28th (evening):
God our Father, we thank you that you are good. Everything you do is loving. Everything that you do has its origin in your love. You are loving to all that you have made. Your goodness shines in all that is fair. You have demonstrated your love for us in this, even while we were still sinners Christ died for us. If you are this kind of God, then you are worthy of our complete trust and no sacrifice is too great for you and for the sake of the gospel. Please help us to be good stewards of all that you have given to us. We pray that our lives would be lived in worship to you as a living sacrifice. Please help us to use what you have given to us: our bodies, our minds, our talents, our spiritual gifts, our education, and our resources for the furtherance of the gospel and for the spread of your fame to the ends of the earth. You are worthy O Lord to receive all glory, all honour, and all praise. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
Wednesday December 29th (morning):
Thank you God that our weaknesses and struggles do not disqualify us from being used in your service. Thank you that through Christ all our sin has been dealt with and that we are right with you. Thank you that our righteousness isn’t enough, and is never enough. Thank you that Christ’s righteousness covers everything. Thank you that in Christ we are pure. Thank you that in Christ we are holy, clean, and free. Please help us today to introduce others to this Jesus who means so much to us. Please give us boldness. Please give us courage. Please give us wisdom and clarity. Please give us power. Please use us to draw many people to yourself. Please save them by your grace for your glory. In Jesus name, Amen.
Wednesday December 29th (evening):
Gracious Father. Thank you that you love the people that we shared the gospel with today. Thank you that you love them more than we do. We pray that you would grant them repentance and trust in your loving grace. Please help our heart to break for the lost as much as yours does. Please help us to care more about the spiritual needs of our friends and the world more than our own reputation and our own popularity. Please help us to fear you more than people. May nothing ever hinder us from sharing the gospel. Please use us for the fulfillment of your great commission in this generation. In Jesus name, Amen.
Thursday December 30th (morning):
Almighty and sovereign God, we long to see the nations worship and exalt Jesus as king, but we cannot make this happen. We cannot convict people of sin, we cannot open people’s eyes, we cannot grant people repentance, but you can. You are might to save. Thank you that the means that you have chosen to save the world is the gospel on the lips of your people. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is living inside of us, and the gospel is the POWER of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Nothing is impossible with you 0 God. We are sorry for our lack of faith in the power of the Gospel and the power of your Holy Spirit. We humbly repent and ask you to exalt Jesus through our lives. May Jesus increase and we decrease. Please use us to fulfill Your Great Commission in this generation. Please help us to live not for ourselves, but for him who died for us. From this room, please raise up hundreds of apostle Pauls who will take the gospel to those who have never heard. Please use us to be world changers for your glory and the joy of many peoples. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
